Le Pigeon
/ Ce projet est un petit poème illustré et inspiré du pigeon. L'idée était d'inspirer les gens à changer d'attitude face à ce petit animal ailé. On voit souvent le pigeon comme un rat volant, une peste à éradiquer, mais on oubli bien facilement son rôle dans notre histoire. En effet, le pigeon côtoie l'humain depuis bien avant la Grèce Antique et nous a servis pendant de nombreux conflits.
Ce projet est une édition de 14 livrets imprimés manuellement en sérigraphie 5 couleurs, signés et numérotés. Le tout a été monté à la main en accordéon afin de laisser la liberté au possesseur d'ouvrir l'oeuvre dans son entièreté. De plus, le long format devait être une représentation visuelle du concept de distance, celui-ci souvent associé au pigeon et à son titre de voyageur.
// This book is a small illustrated poem inspired by my favorite animal, the pigeon. The idea was to change people's perception of these small creatures. People often see pigeon as a flying rat, a pest to eradicate, but are quick to forget the good and the help it has provided humanity throughout history.
This is an edition of 14 handmade booklets printed using 5 colours using silkscreening. They are signed, numbered and are bound by hand in accordion to express the idea of distance when fully opened, something often associated with pigeons and their role as travelling birds.
